The Regional Network for Hospitality and Tourism collaborates with Visit Sweden – to strengthen Sweden as a travel destination

This week, Visit Sweden welcomed the Regional Network for Hospitality and Tourism (RNBT) to a meeting. RNBT brings together leading officials from all 21 regional tourism and hospitality organizations in Sweden. The goal of the meeting was to achieve consensus and understanding of each organization’s mission and role – linked to the purpose of creating an attractive Sweden as a travel destination through collaborative marketing efforts.

“It was a very educational and important workshop about roles, responsibilities, and missions that both differ and are similar at regional and national levels,” says Annika Fredriksson, CEO of Swedish Lapland Visitors Board.

Visit Sweden is a state-owned company officially tasked by the government to market Sweden as a travel destination. The goal is to create value for Sweden. Regular meetings to review current and upcoming initiatives are an important collaborative platform between regional and national levels. These meetings are crucial for the ability to mobilize resources and create synergies at all levels in the work to promote the hospitality industry.

“Through collaboration in marketing, we create win-win situations, and together we have greater opportunities to increase visibility in the international travel market. This leads to increased attractiveness, knowledge, and awareness of Norrbotten’s and the country’s tourism offerings,” says Annika Fredriksson, and continues:

“Both our Arctic destination with all the county’s municipalities and the entire destination of Sweden have great potential to offer what future travelers are looking for – sustainable alternatives where travelers are invited to contribute to the positive development of the places they visit.”

The Regional Network for Hospitality and Tourism, which represents all regions of the country, is one of Visit Sweden’s collaboration partners. The association’s work and collaboration are based on common issues and thus serve as an active platform with the purpose of being a unifying force that together contributes to the positive development of Sweden’s hospitality industry and tourism in the identified issues.
