Arctic Bath awarded Michelin Key
Arctic Bath in Harads has received one of the hotel sector’s most prestigious awards. In this year’s assessment of Michelin Key – the new quality marker from Michelin Guide – Arctic Bath is named a destination offering an extraordinary overall experience. The facility is the only Swedish hotel outside the capital to have received this distinction so far.
Michelin Key was launched in 2024 and serves as an equivalent to Michelin stars, but for hotels and destinations. The focus is on the overall experience: how accommodation, architecture, service, gastronomy, and the location’s identity interact to create value for the guest. Inspectors work anonymously and evaluate comfort, hospitality, atmosphere, experiential value, and local connection, among other factors. Arctic Bath’s Key award demonstrates that the facility has achieved an outstanding level in all these areas.
For Arctic Bath, the award is a significant recognition – but also one that is shared with many actors in Norrbotten.

“We are truly honored to be the first hotel in the North of Sweden to receive the prestigious Michelin Key. It is a testament to the consistent hard work and dedication of our team and all our local suppliers. We are proud to be a sustainable destination with a strong character, story, and soul. Our close collaboration within the Norrbotten region is vital for our success. Together we will continue to aim for excellence in providing memorable and unique guest experiences,” says Klara Ranggård, CEO and Hotel Manager at Arctic Bath.
She particularly emphasizes the local connection as a crucial part of the facility’s identity – from architecture and choice of materials to collaborations with producers and guides in the area.
A Signal of Long-term Quality
For Arctic Bath, the Michelin Key is both proof of the work done and a direction forward. The award encompasses the entire guest experience and confirms the ambition to continue developing the facility in harmony with nature, culture, and design.
