386 sales meetings held during the first Arctic Sweden Digital Summit

The Arctic Sweden Digital Summit was held for the first time on September 1. The digital sales workshop gathered 35 hospitality businesses from Arctic Sweden and 53 international buyers. A total of 386 individual meetings were conducted during the day.

The businesses had the opportunity to present their offerings to tour operators, travel agencies, product managers, and others who sell travel in the European market. Buyers came from countries including Belgium, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, the United Kingdom, and Germany.

The meetings were 15 minutes long and had been booked in advance based on participants’ interests and offerings.

“It’s an excellent opportunity to meet several international buyers on the same day. The pace was intense, but many seemed to be looking for exactly what we offer. Now we need to review all the impressions and follow up on the meetings, but I see good opportunities for future business with buyers we otherwise wouldn’t have reached,” says Ida Brännström, who runs Mukka Group in Övertorneå together with Simon Mukkavaara.

The plan is for the sales workshop to return annually, alternating between digital and physical formats. Next year, a physical workshop is planned, combined with study tours in the region. The digital format will return in 2028.

“The advantage of the digital format is that more businesses and buyers have the opportunity to participate, and many meetings can be conducted in a short time. At the same time, it is very valuable for buyers to come here and experience the places, distances, and businesses’ offerings themselves. By alternating between digital and physical workshops, we can leverage the strengths of both approaches,” says Sofi Holmgren, Travel Experience Manager at Arctic Sweden Visitors Board.

The Arctic Sweden Digital Summit was organized in collaboration with Nordic Marketing and implemented within the framework of ADORE, a project aimed at strengthening hospitality businesses’ digital business capabilities and opportunities in the international market.
